It is virtually impossible to overstate the contributions that Dr. Charles and Corlette have made
in 2020 towards making a difficult year more manageable.
First a little backstory. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Charles going back to when his office was still in
the Professional Building at Methodist hospital. When my 76 year-old mom, with several on-
going health issues, moved to Mansfield at the very end of 2019 it was only natural that she
consider Dr Charles as her primary care physician. After getting settled, she went and met him
and Corlette and, of course, liked them both very much and enrolled as a Hometown Health
patient.
A few months later, mom made an appointment to see Dr. Charles because she was
experiencing a significant shortness of breath. That visit set in motion the events that led to
triple bypass and mitral valve repair surgery and a subsequent two-week hospital stay due to
complications that included seven days in ICU. It’s now the middle of November and we’re 5
months post-surgery. I’m happy to report that, all things considered, mom is doing very well.
Dr. Charles and Corlette were a pivotal part of the team of doctors that allow me to say that.
Dr. Charles has guided us through the entire process from that initial visit to the seemingly
endless follow-up visits to make sure that everything continues to move in the right direction.
Beyond that, he has constantly been a liaison to the other doctors that mom has been seeing
which has made it easier for us to maintain a cohesive plan for mom’s recovery.
I don’t make a habit of writing reviews, but given the level of care and attention that Dr. Charles
and Corlette have provided my mom I felt like it was worth saying something if it might help
someone else make the decision to become a part of Hometown Health. After this year, I hope I
get to go back to seeing Dr. Charles and Corlette once a year for my physical but it’s nice
knowing that if something does go wrong that I have a great team to help me get through it.
